Project Overview
A 3D scanning tool for building construction, designed for precise clash detection and coordination. Using photogrammetry, the system captures accurate, real-time 3D models of construction elements and overlays them with BIM models to detect conflicts early. In this project, we experimented with photogrammetry accuracy, a tagging system, and a splash-point cloud system, and developed an AI prototype to segment 3D scans.
Scans, BIM, and Clashes
The software loads both the 3D scan of the construction site and the BIM model of the house, overlaying the two in real time. Any clashes or discrepancies are automatically detected and highlighted in red for instant visualization and resolution

Object Location
Each element in the point cloud is segmented and can be selected and interacted with just like components in a BIM model.

Timeline
The model can be stored with time stamps, and the interface organizes each stage into a clear timeline. This allows users to visualize the construction progress and see the building come together step by step.

Navigation
The 3D environment is fully browser-based with intuitive navigation. Users can seamlessly toggle between plan view, elevation views, and full 3D perspective.
